Date: October 5, 2024 Time: 02:31:41

Today is the birthday of theater and film actor Vladimir Zamansky. He was born in 1926 in Kremenchug (Ukraine). He grew up without a father and during the war he lost his mother. I left with my aunt for the evacuation to Uzbekistan. In 1944, after deceiving the commission and increasing his age, he went to the front as a radio operator. After the war he remained in the army and a few years later was sentenced to prison for fighting. He worked on construction sites, including at Moscow University, and was released early.

At the age of 32 he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School. One of Zamansky’s main roles was that of the repentant policeman Vladimir Lazarev in “Road Check”, for which in 1988 he received the State Prize and the title of People’s Artist.

Zamansky starred in the films “Skating Rink and Fiddle”, “Liberation”, “Run”, “Dot, Period, Comma”, “Two Captains” and many others. Viewers notice the depth of the actor and his special, penetrating gaze.

In the late 1990s, Zamansky left cinema and moved to Murom. He lives from agriculture, reads Christian books, even on the radio.
