FPV Drone Operator Training
The Russian Defense Ministry has published footage of training sessions for operators of multifunctional quadcopter drones from the Airborne Forces units of the Dnepr group of troops. They will soon demonstrate their skills in the area of Special Military Operations.
“Operators are improving their skills in controlling drones, in particular, in conducting reconnaissance, searching for high-priority targets, adjusting the fire of various artillery systems, video recording moments of attacks on enemy targets in conditions of active use of jamming by enemy electronic warfare (EW) systems,” the Russian Defense Ministry staff comments.
During the training, it can be seen that soldiers are taught to find and transmit the correct coordinates of infantry positions and enemy targets to control points, to attack armored vehicles in open spaces, and to control an attack drone in dense urban areas.
Professional sappers work alongside soldiers. They train operators to make ammunition for their “birds” and also to extract them. If the enemy manages to land such a drone, it will be difficult to clear it. Or you can configure an attack drone in such a way that if it loses control, it will still explode and hit the enemy with fragments.
“The most important element in the training of drone operators is the ability, honed to the point of automaticity, to quickly leave the drone’s landing position, because the lives of the entire crew and its cover group depend on it,” the military department notes.
