August 10. A woman’s voice said that they were calling from the bank, 15 thousand rubles were transferred from my card to the name of a person I did not know. She said that she did not translate anything, to which the operator replied that she was probably a scam and that they would pass the case on to the Central Bank, and from there they would call me back.

Soon a man called, he introduced himself as Dorokhov from the Central Bank. He started convincing me to immediately withdraw money from all accounts and cards. And he asked me how many accounts do I have in general and how much money do they have. She replied that she did not believe him, all this suspiciously hurt her. But she said that the situation was dangerous and if she did not believe her, then Tkachev, an employee of the prosecutor’s office, would call and explain everything.

Tkachev called and said to do everything that Dorokhov says; otherwise I will lose all the money. At Dorokhov’s request, I went to a bank branch, closed my largest account (investment) and transferred money (200 thousand rubles) to a normal one.

August 11 Voronov called, said he was from the security department of the Central Bank, sent a photo of his ID. He said that now he would work with me, since Dorokhov and Tkachev were scammers who wanted to steal my money. Soon Baluev called from the FSB and confirmed that Dorokhov had indeed been arrested and that Voronov could be trusted.

All five callers were scammers. And the first stage of his scheme ended successfully: the right person gained the woman’s trust, thanks to which in the future she will follow his instructions without question. Over the next three days, the pensioner, listening to Voronov, withdrew money from all her accounts. The result – in the cells of scammers were 360 thousand rubles. And they went to the second stage.

August 17 Voronov called again and said that someone had issued a loan of 900 thousand rubles in another bank in my name, using my documents and guaranteed by my apartment. He explained that it is necessary to immediately issue a counter loan in the same bank.

Subsequently, it turns out that in fact no one issued such a loan – scammers came up with this lie in order to hang a non-existent debt on a woman. After 10 days, when all his loan applications were rejected due to his low income, the scammers started the third stage of their scheme.

August 27 Evgeny Nikolayevich Naumov called and introduced himself as the head of the legal department of the Central Bank. He advised me to come to an agreement on the fictitious sale of my apartment, otherwise it would not be possible to expose the scammers who gave me a loan.

August 29. I sent Naumov all the documents for the apartment. And he sent me the phone numbers of firms suspected of apartment fraud, so I called them and offered mine for sale. Naumov offered the realtor to him-Olesya. She introduced me to Bogdan Petrovich Bondar, the firm’s director for investor selection.

September 6. She received a promise of 300 thousand rubles from Bondar, wrote a receipt and took an extract from the house book at the MFC.

September, 10th. In a meeting with the investor, we agreed to close a deal.

Soon Bondar came for her and took her to all the necessary authorities: first, to the psycho-neurological dispensary of the Institute. Serbsky for a certificate of sanity, then to the MFC and a notary, after that – to a bank, for a deal. As a deposit, the pensioner received 1 million rubles in cash, of which Naumov took 700 thousand through a courier service, and Bondar 300 thousand.

11 of September. Naumov called again, asked to give him the number and photo of the MIR card. He then he called Lavrenev, who introduced himself as the deputy head of the department of the Main Investigative Department. He also sent a photo of his ID and assured that he was developing this operation in conjunction with the Central Bank and Naumov. Thanks for the help.

16 of September. The money came to my account. Accompanied by an assistant, Naumov withdrew the 13 million rubles and gave it to him.

Thanks to the legend of scammers, thought out to the smallest detail, the pensioner had no suspicions. So, a couple of days later, he passed the fourth and final stage of his scheme.

September 19 Naumov called me and advised me to file a complaint with the police to start a criminal case, since the buyers are thieves who want to take my apartment under a fictitious sale agreement.

No longer communicated. Having obtained all the money the victim had, the scammers disappeared from all radars.

Later, Vera Georgievna found out that the contract for the sale of her apartment was not fictitious, and the buyers want to accuse her of fraud. The pensioner was discharged from her apartment and on September 30, at the request of the buyers, she was thrown out onto the street with bailiffs.

The result of this story: in a month and a half, a lonely sick woman lost her apartment on Leninsky Prospekt and her registration in Moscow. She now she lives in an unheated garden house in the suburbs. And in her apartment on Leninsky Prospekt, a provincial realtor was registered, who, from the point of view of the law, acquired the apartment completely legally.

Psychologists recommend not answering calls from unknown numbers and not engaging in phone conversations with strangers. In extreme cases, the robot can be entrusted with the conversation; some of them even have a sense of humor. Here, for example, are some real dialogues between a bot named Oleg and distributors of intrusive advertising.
