Singer Alsou and businessman Yan Abramov divorced on August 27 after 18 years of marriage. But the passions over their separation are still simmering. The couple share jointly acquired assets worth 10 billion rubles. Alsou filed a lawsuit in the Savelovsky Court of Moscow, the next hearing is scheduled for October 7.
Meanwhile, Abramov’s lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky said that the singer is going to file another lawsuit over the division of property, this time in a British court. Alsou has had British citizenship since 2022 and now, according to Dobrovinsky, she will exercise her right to sue in London. The lawyer expressed fear that the court of a hostile country would side with the subject.
Alsou does not comment on her divorce to journalists, but she decided not to remain silent in the face of such a claim. According to her, the rumours that she is going to sue her husband in London are not true.
“I am surprised by the lack of professionalism of Mr. Dobrovinsky, who is willing to comment on absolutely false information. Apparently, there is a desire to provoke a new scandal and make money on it,” the singer told StarHit.
Dobrovinsky himself, however, admits that the story about the trial in London may just be rumors that he has not yet verified.
“Having British citizenship did not prevent Alsu Abramova from getting divorced with a Russian passport. However, I have heard rumors that Alsu is filing a lawsuit for the division of property in her country, apparently in London. I have not yet been able to confirm this information, but once it is established I will be able to comment. If so, for me it is an unexpected move, as everything is being moved to a hostile country, where the judicial authorities will surely take the side of Her Majesty’s subject,” the lawyer said.
