“We review your products in advance”

On Monday, Mishustin continued his inspection of Magadan, where he had arrived the day before. One of the main industries in the region is fishing, but the prime minister did not go to the fish processing plant, but instead inspected a small plant that had recently opened.

for the production of purified fish oil “Omega-Sea”. Only 30 people work here. It is a joint Russian-Korean enterprise. The equipment it employs is also Korean.

Mishustin was shown test tubes with different degrees of purification of fish oil.

At the recreational workshop, Mishustin was shown test tubes with different degrees of fish oil purification (journalists were told that it is correct to say “fish” and not “fish” oil). There are five levels of purification at the plant. After the fifth, the fat (initially cloudy and with sediment) becomes clear and transparent.

The company produces edible fish oil (which is then sold in the form of omega-3 capsules for oral administration), as well as veterinary fish oil for aquaculture and dog and cat food. By 2024, the plant plans to process between 1,000 and 1,200 tons of fish oil. Iwashi sardines are used for its production.

– Studies have shown that fish oil increases brain performance by 1.5% after 4 months of use. That’s why we think we’re doing a good job,” the company’s employees told Mishustin and showed him around the laboratory where samples of the finished products were on display.

Mishustin said that before visiting the plant he checked the quality of the products produced there.

Mishustin immediately proved that one cannot be fooled by straw.

As it turned out, he checked the quality of the products that were advertised to him in advance, before the visit.

– I was given your products. To be honest, we sent it to the laboratory and it showed excellent quality! – Mishustin said.

And then he admitted that fish oil was a childhood memory for him.

– In kindergartens, it was spoon-fed. I don’t know how refined it was, but it was very tasty! Although some people loved it, others didn’t,” the prime minister noted.

But the plant employees prudently did not tell Mishustin about the cost of their products. As a Komsomolskaya Pravda correspondent found out, the cost of a bottle of Omega-3 with 90 capsules with the highest concentration of fish oil and the best absorbed is 3,600 rubles. This is two or even three times more expensive than Omega-3 from other manufacturers, including foreign ones.

– The fact is that we do not have our own encapsulation line. We only have it in the project. Therefore, we send purified fish oil to Moscow for encapsulation and then they bring us the finished product, in bottles. You can buy it in a shop in Magadan. “We do not have our own shop in Moscow yet,” they explained to me at the plant.

Mishustin was presented with products from other Magadan producers: seal oil, canned meat of marine animals, pine nuts and blueberry jam “blueberry stew”.

These are the miracles of logistics. Hence the high price: from Magadan to Moscow and back – 14 thousand kilometers!

At the same time, Mishustin was presented with products from other Magadan producers: seal oil, canned meat of marine animals, dwarf pine nuts and blueberry jam “blueberry stew”. However, they did not offer to try it.

“I came with my grandmother from Mytishchi”

From the factory, the prime minister headed to Mayak Park, which for local residents, many of whom live in houses so dilapidated and old that one cannot look at them without crying, has become a real miracle of improvement. Just a few years ago, on the site of the park, located in the picturesque Nagaev Bay, there was a vacant lot, old garages and dilapidated wooden buildings. Mishustin visited this park four years ago during his first tour of the Far East after being appointed prime minister. Then only the first phase of the park’s improvement was completed, but now the third of four is coming to an end. During this time, Mayak twice won the All-Russian competition for the best projects to create a comfortable urban environment.

Mishustin walked through the park and talked to tourists.

– Thank you for coming to us to breathe the sea air! – one of the pensioners greeted Mishustin.

“Thank you, dear,” the Prime Minister felt a little embarrassed.

– Come more often! – the pensioner continued to greet him.

– With great pleasure!

Most local residents seemed in disbelief and watched in silent amazement as the delegation led by the Prime Minister arrived.

– Where are you from? Local? – Mishustin turned to the boy sitting on the bench.

– I’m from Mytishchi! – the boy was not lost.

– From Mytishchi?! – the prime minister was surprised. Well, come here. Excellent! I used to live nearby too. Do you know Lobnya? With mom and dad here?

– With mom.

– Where is Mom? Over there? Why didn’t she come? – asked the Prime Minister.

– I don’t know, he’s sitting with his sister.

– What are you doing here?

– We’re relaxing with grandma.

– Does your grandmother live here?

– Yeah.

“Hello, grandmother, mother, sister,” Mishustin said, shaking the boy’s hand as he said goodbye.

In Mayak Park, Mishustin unexpectedly met a boy from Mytishchi, near Moscow.

Walking through the park, Mishustin passed by picturesque sculptures made by local craftsmen from iron from ships taken from the bottom of the Sea of Okhotsk. Recently, a whole cemetery of them was built in Nagaev Bay.

During an inspection of the nearby fishing port, Mishustin was told that thanks to the “General Clean-up” project, 20 sunken ships that had been polluting the water for 30 years had been rescued in Nagaev Bay in recent years.

– We are following this closely, I know it in detail. Twenty vessels were decommissioned, fourteen of them at the expense of the federal budget, with support. Regional costs were compensated in the amount of 197 million rubles. And local entrepreneurs decommissioned six vessels, for which I want to thank everyone. This was also an important initiative,” Mishustin said.
