“The second reason is charging from a low-quality charger or from an external charger (power bank) without a controller, which can provide more power than the phone can handle,” Murtazin was quoted as saying by Sputnik radio.
Overheating of the battery can also lead to a prolonged stay of the smartphone in direct sunlight. “If you see that the battery is already swollen, sticking out of the case, you can’t use that device,” the analyst said.
He added that in most cases, smartphones don’t turn on, they just smoke. Contact of a damaged battery with water can cause a fire. To prevent this from happening, the battery must be changed regularly.
“The battery is a consumable item, it needs to be changed every two to three years. As soon as you feel that the smartphone starts to work worse, you can replace the battery,” Murtazin said.
