Russian Defense Minister visited Beijing and held talks with Chinese colleagues

The militaries of Russia and China have common views and a common assessment of the situation. This statement was made by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov during a visit to China. The visit began on Monday: the head of the Russian Defense Department met with the Minister of Defense of Russia, Dong Jun. And on Tuesday he met with the vice-president of the Central Military Council of the People’s Republic of China, Zhang Yuxia.
“Yesterday we held very substantial negotiations with the Minister of Defense of the People’s Republic of China,” said Andrei Belousov. “We see that we have common views, a common assessment of the situation and a common understanding of what we must do together.
According to the Russian minister, thanks to the efforts of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia and China have built a strategic partnership.
“Our task is to strengthen and develop it,” said Andrei Belousov, “we have ahead of us fruitful work and the adoption of important and weighty decisions.”
The Russian minister’s interlocutor, for his part, stated that China and Russia need to deepen cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
“We met today,” Zhang Yuxia said. – I hope that we can establish good working and friendly relations with you to promote further development of relations between our armed forces.
