The first snowfall, the first cold weather is a good reason to remember summer, frozen lemonade and crazy hotel prices with hot chocolate.

But, fortunately, every year more and more places appear where you can enjoy life completely free of charge. For example, in 2024, residents of thousands (!) of our cities could watch the best short films simply by arriving at the right place on time. In addition, everyone had the opportunity not only to observe, but also to evaluate the work. According to the tradition invented by the creators of the festival, it was necessary to vote with flashlights after the session. And there were many who wanted to cast their vote.

The project began on July 16, and its results were summed up on October 15 at the capital’s Khudozhestvenny cinema. The competition program included seven works, which were selected by an expert jury from more than eight hundred candidates.

“There are a lot of big film festivals around the world that are similar to each other. We decided to create a project that reaches the viewer on its own. It is held free of charge in the open air and the main protagonist is the public,” said the general producer of the festival, Alexandr Shcheryakov.

Among the projects that participated in the competition is the debut film of the famous footballer, hero of the 2018 World Cup, Artem Dzyuba. The striker starred in the comedy short film “Hate.” This is a story about a football fan and his conversation with his favorite player. The public, by the way, received the film with great affection.

The festival program also included the films “Applause”, “We Are Not Long”, “To Heaven” and others, among which the jury chose the best work. This year, among the referees were directors Klim Shipenko, Alexey Nuzhny, Oleg Trofim, actresses Kristina Asmus and Irina Gorbacheva.

True, none of the jury members attended the closing ceremony of the festival, so the main prize (one million rubles) was presented by the general producer of the festival, Alexander Shcheryakov. The winning film was the social film “30 Seconds” by Ivan Sosnin, which was received with applause from the audience.

At the closing of the festival, the film “The Man and the Woman” was screened, directed by Vladimir Kott, a collection of stories united by the theme of love and intersecting characters. Members of the film crew, including actress Anna Kotova, came to present the film.

“The story in which I starred is a very subtle story about love in all its manifestations,” he said.

At the end of the evening, film critic Yegor Moskvitin spoke with Vladimir Kott. He asked the director a series of questions that the audience had sent him in advance. Among them was actor Pavel Derevyanko’s question: “How much do members of the film crew earn?”

The answer should have reassured Pavel: for this work the actors received less “price” than usual.
