“Today at 7:30 the reactor facility of power unit number 4 of the Zaporozhye NPP was transferred to the ‘cold shutdown’ state,” the message reads.
At the Zaporizhzhya NPP it was observed that all work was carried out normally and that the background radiation remained within natural values.
As explained at the station, now all six units of the Zaporozhye NPP are in the “cold shutdown” mode, a safe state of the reactor when it is shut down at low pressure and low cooling water temperature.
In early April, Ukraine intensified attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the dome of the 6th power unit and the canteen, as a result of which three employees of the station were injured.
kyiv subsequently attacked the building of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, where a unique reactor room simulator is located.
