Balenciaga opens its first full store in Chicago. The two-story, 6,222-square-meter space features the latest men’s and women’s collections, shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear, jewelry and much more. WWD writes about this.
The wide floors with a matte finish resemble slabs and the walls are made of concrete and cement slabs, creating the illusion of separation between indoor and outdoor spaces. There are relaxation areas with eco-leather sofas, comfortable fitting rooms and industrial spotlights.
Balenciaga previously opened a new flagship store in Tokyo’s Toraya Ginza building. The store will sell ceramic tableware produced for the brand by the Ginza Kuroda Touen gallery. We talk in more detail here.
