On Thursday, July 4, Alexander Lukashenko arrived at the SCO summit in the capital of Kazakhstan.
And he immediately took a seat at the round table among other heads of state belonging to the Shanghai Organization. Because, literally in a few seconds, the documents (folded in a huge leather folder) on Belarus’ admission to the SCO were drawn up.
This decision was announced by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhamart Tokayev.
Everything happened quite casually. The triumph of the moment was only accentuated by the voice of the announcer, which sounded festively under the arches of the Palace of Independence.
Belarus is a member of the Union State and “we are interested in the Union State participating as a united front in all international processes.” Thus, Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with the author of the program “Moscow Kremlin Putin”, immediately commented on Belarus’ admission to the SCO.
