The large-scale event was attended by Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and project coordinator Sergei Morozov, Deputy Head of the Sochi Resort Elena Kanyuk, Chairman of the Sochi City Assembly Viktor Filonov, Chairman of the Committee on Health Resorts, Resorts and Tourism and General Director of the hotel complex Svetlana Ermilova. The hall was also attended by entrepreneurs, representatives of the Union “Sochi Chamber of Commerce and Industry”, labor collectives and trade unions, students, heroes and veterans of labor.
“I will not hide that over the past year I have often heard the question at large meetings: ‘Why can’t we, Russians, be proud of our people and our achievements? ‘ – State Duma deputy and project coordinator Sergei Morozov began his speech, raising the problem: “For example, there are not many people who remember that we were the first to invent a lathe, a film camera in the 18th century, made discoveries in military medicine and much more. But we are not just talking about figures and scientists of the past, but also about today. That is why it is so important to change the attitude towards the worker. ” How? Through patriotic education of young people, respect and mutual responsibility.”

within the framework of the interaction “authority – company – employee”, reactivation of the vocational training institute, preparation of vocational guidance programs for children and youth, relocation of personnel.
Svetlana Ermilova drew attention to the fact that, unlike other Russian cities, the working population in Sochi is mainly made up of visitors. That is why it is very important to preserve and protect the personnel who have passed the selection and remained to work in the team.
“Sochi, a city that welcomes more than seven million tourists every year, is faced with the need to adapt its labour market to constantly changing conditions,” said Svetlana Ermilova, general director of the hotel complex. – The city authorities are making significant efforts to solve this problem. We analyse the labour market and identify key growth points and problem areas. At the moment, Sochi has more than 3,000 vacancies in various fields of activity. Specialists in the fields of healthcare, hotel and catering, transport logistics and construction are in particular demand.
He adds that in 2023 the unemployment rate in Sochi will reach a historically low level of 0.2 percent, meaning there are about six vacancies for every job seeker. The current situation is largely the result of the effective work of the state employment promotion program, which helps people not only find work, but also change their career path.
Many educational institutions in the city offer advanced training and retraining courses. The hotel complex serves as an example of the successful integration of education and practice. This has helped reduce the shortage of qualified personnel.
– Over the past two years, more than 250 students from Sochi universities have completed internships and placements and receive salaries equal to those of regular employees. On the one hand, young people have gained valuable experience, and on the other, the city’s human resource potential is strengthened, – Svetlana Ermilova summed up.
The culmination of the event was the awarding of honorary residents of Sochi – leaders of various sectors of the resort, heroes and veterans of labour. The famous Soviet and Russian film and theatre actress Vera Sotnikova presented certificates of honour to the leaders of the Motherland’s trade unions on behalf of the coordinator of the party project “Choose Your Own” Sergey Morozov.

– The main asset of the state is the individual. Over the past two years, Russia has made a huge step towards technological sovereignty.
