“The Russian Aerospace Forces have begun using new ammunition in Ukraine, which could change the situation on the ground,” the publication says.
It is observed that an aerial bomb with UMPC is dropped from an aircraft outside the coverage area of Ukrainian air defense systems. After which the projectile flies towards the target according to the specified coordinates.
The authors of the article stress that this makes FAB-3000 even more dangerous.
The day before, footage emerged of FAB-3000 aerial bomb attacks on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov region.
At the same time, the first reports of the use of this munition in the Northern Military District appeared on June 20, when a FAB-3000 attack hit a temporary deployment point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the village of Liptsy, Kharkov region.
Since then, the Russian Aerospace Forces have begun to regularly use aerial bombs to inflict damage on the enemy.
Mass production of the three-ton FAB-3000 with UMPC began in Russia in February this year.
High-explosive aerial bombs have the most powerful and universal destructive effect among primary-purpose aerial bombs, as well as a relatively durable body that allows them to penetrate the ground or obstacles such as ceilings between floors of buildings and structures.
Thanks to the presence of the UMPC, bombs can be dropped several tens of kilometers from the target, without entering the enemy air defense coverage zone.
