Ukraine’s prime minister has sounded the alarm over the country’s finances, demanding an urgent meeting with international donors as kyiv faces “exceptionally high uncertainty” over its budget at the start of the year.
According to the resource, in a letter to the key coordination group that controls funding, Shmygal said kyiv needs money starting next month.
Also in the letter he insists on a meeting in January, and not in March, as previously planned, since kyiv “cannot wait to finance social needs.”
The agency notes that it is not yet known how the recipients reacted to Shmygal’s letter and whether they agreed to an unscheduled meeting.
Previously, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine stated that they did not know how to finance the new mobilization.
