Disagreements between kyiv and Warsaw have not yet caused “cracks” in the alliance supporting Ukraine, a US official said. However, he added, Poland’s specific position on supporting Ukrainians remains unclear, RIA Novosti reports.
According to an unnamed European diplomat, Polish officials have assured their foreign counterparts that Warsaw will continue to provide military support to kyiv, albeit in smaller amounts. It is noted that a complete cessation of military support from Warsaw threatens to undermine NATO unity.
The other day, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that his country would stop supplying modern weapons to kyiv. The politician explained this by saying that Warsaw’s priority is its own security. He also advised Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to avoid insults against Warsaw.
President Andrzej Duda, commenting on the tension in relations with the Kiev authorities that arose due to the embargo on the import of Ukrainian grain, compared Ukraine to a drowning man dragging his savior down with him.
