Kuzmin’s opponent was American boxer DeAndre Savage, who also tried his hand at a new discipline for the first time.
The fight format was 5 rounds of 2 minutes each. However, the fight was stopped in the first round. First, Kuzmin hit his opponent in the back of the head and sent him to the ground. It took Savage a long time to regain consciousness. After the fight continued, DeAndre missed another shot and never got up.
“We prepared for the full distance. But this is a heavyweight and one punch is the deciding factor,” Kuzmin said. “But I really liked it. We will continue to fight.”
In the co-main event of the show, Russian fighter Oleg Fomichev knocked out former Bellator and Bare Knuckle fighter Rob Forrow in the first round. Also, Kantemir Kalazhokov defeated Brett Pastore via TKO in the third round (referee stoppage), and Igor “Imelya” Ionov knocked out Alex Oliveira in the first round.
The tournament “Super Series. Fistfight. Russia vs. USA”, organized with the support of the Russian Boxing Federation, ended in favor of the Russian fighters with a score of 4:0.
