Coca-Cola closes the agreement to buy the Philippine bottling company for 1,648 million

Date: September 8, 2024 Time: 05:53:57

The Coca-Cola bottler Europacific Partners (CCEP) confirmed this Monday that together with the company Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV), it will buy the Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines (CCBPI) bottler for 1,800 million dollars (1,648 million euros) . This has been detailed by CCEP to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), and reported by Efe, and it anticipates that the transaction announced last August will close at the end of the year.

The company has also confirmed that the ownership structure will be 60/40 between CCEP and AEV1, subject to a number of customary closing conditions, including receipt of required regulatory approvals. The main objective of the acquisition is the expansion of CCEP in Australia and the Pacific, as explained by the company.

They position this transaction as “one more step for CCEP to create a more diverse footprint within its business segment” and the opportunity to make the most of the experience in Indonesia.

CCEP has more than 600 million consumers in the world and a 50-year presence in Spain. It has managed to increase its profit by 14% during the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 854 million euros.

In Iberia (Spain, Portugal and Andorra) revenue has increased by 12.5%, to 1,541 million. In the first nine months of the year, its turnover was 13,784 million euros, 6% more than the same previous period.
