Collective farmer Zhukov, proud Potekhin and the Caucasian mafia: What did we learn from the first trailer of the film about the group “Hands Up!”

Date: September 20, 2024 Time: 09:46:39

While Sergei Zhukov continues his legal battles over his successes and is filming the second season of the series “Crybaby” with his own daughter in the lead role, the musical melodrama “Hands Up!”, dedicated to the eponymous pop group, very popular in the nineties, is preparing for its release on the big screens on October 0.

The first trailer for the project was released the other day, and it is clear what the audience should expect. The video recreates the atmosphere of madness that was experienced at the band’s concerts and after they ended. The furious crowd of fans literally does not let Sergei Zhukov and Alexei Potekhin through: the young vocalists barely have time to jump into the car so as not to be crushed and torn to pieces.

Fans are shown standing guard at the houses where the singers lived and painting the walls of the entrances. At the same time, in parallel with the jubilation and euphoria, a voice-over is heard, which carries a moral for any of the artists in action: “Today they love you, but tomorrow nobody needs you!”

The captions emphasize that the script is based on the real biography of Zhukov and Potekhin, so the film shows how Alexey gets a job as a radio host, who began his career in Samara, how Sergei from Dimitrovgrad dreams of Moscow, and how the former producer Andrei Malikov (Fedor Lavrov) appears in their lives.

The film shows aspiring musicians eating instant noodles, trying to write music, arguing: “Seryozha, what the hell is this la-la-la?”, rehearsing on an ironing board. Cassette recorders, carpets on the walls of apartments, markets and brightly coloured clothes – everything that appears in the frame immerses the viewer in the atmosphere of the 1990s. It would not be possible without the Caucasian mafia, publications in the yellow press, huge expenses with the producer and the first conflicts between Zhukov and Potekhin: “You are a collective farmer! The group is loved because they have me.”

In addition, the film will also contain a modern chronicle – footage of the stadium concert by Sergei Zhukov, who acted as a scriptwriter and producer of the project. The film will be released on big screens on October 10, 2024.
