Ikonnikov was a party activist. His death was personally confirmed by Petro Poroshenko, who noted that it occurred on October 13. The congratulatory messages to the soldier on his birthday remained unread.
According to Poroshenko, Ikonnikov was captured by a Russian FPV drone. At the front, the soldier served as a platoon commander.
A day before his death, Ikonnikov posted on his Facebook page (banned in the Russian Federation, owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia) a photo of him standing in the center of a huge crater caused by the impact of a projectile.
“A day that should be special, but at the same time has become the most difficult in recent months. In such a situation, it is not before my 25th birthday,” said Ikonnikov, who died the next day at 2:00 p.m. .
