The Russian Defense Ministry demonstrated the combat operation of the crew of the Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the air defense unit of the Dnieper group of troops. The footage shows how the crew destroyed two rockets fired by militants of the Kiev regime from the M142 “Himars” MLRS system at the civilian population on the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region.

“During combat duty to protect civilian units and settlements from air strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, air defense crews on duty detected air targets moving in the direction of our troops. The command of the anti-aircraft missile division immediately made a decision to destroy the targets,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The department says air defense soldiers detect, escort and destroy hundreds of aircraft around the clock.

“We cover the group’s units from any air targets. Each target has different parameters. Recently we encountered a plane, a helicopter, and then a “Himars” arrived. They were all shot down. The enemy changes conditions, launches from different points. Therefore, it is necessary to observe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 360 degrees,” says the commander of the division’s air defense missile system with the call sign “Mars.”

Soldiers protect our positions and the civilian population from the actions of the air attack weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the most important administrative and industrial facilities of the Kherson region.
