Composer Richard M. Sherman dies at 95

Date: July 1, 2024 Time: 14:57:32

Richard M. Sherman, two-time Oscar winner and composer of “Mary Poppins,” “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and the Disneyland song “It’s a Small World (After All),” has died at the age of 95. He died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills due to an age-related illness.

The Sherman brothers worked as composers for Disney. In the early 1960s, they wrote tunes for the films The Parent Trap, Quest for the Castaways, and Summer Magic, as well as songs for The Absent-Minded Professor and Moonlight Pilot.

Let us remember that producer and director Roger Corman, who revealed talents such as Jack Nicholson, Ron Howard, Peter Bogdanovich, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and James Cameron, died at the age of 98.
