In the future, machines will be faster and better at performing tasks, but humans will still manage the process. The scope of their application will be wider, both in music and in other industries. Today, neural networks can help in the design of social spaces: an elevator, a park, an entrance (this is not full-fledged music, but sounds with a certain mood that perform a specific function). It is necessary to strive to achieve such interaction with AI in a simple design piece, and the more tracks do not convey a message, the lower the cost of their production. In addition, people can feel which music is actually recorded and which is created using presets. This is neither good nor bad, but I personally make tracks using a modular synthesizer, because touch also determines the depth of understanding.
It is interesting to observe how neural networks coexist with humans and take up more and more space. Even as a child, I thought about the nature of the emergence of ideas, the existence of collective intelligence, and these thoughts eventually paved the way for the birth of my Tesla project. In 2018, I decided to use Nikola Tesla coils to create music, wrote a concert and performed it on the Aglomerat stage. The show took almost a year to make, but it was worth it: the lightning that “struck” at the right moment produced a wow effect. Over time, the project turned into an artistic performance with memorable images, history, and a concept based on neural networks: I came up with a legend about an AI that inhabits my body, and both it and I are essentially electricity that can interact. Tesla also contains a small amount of texts that I used to write by hand. Now ChatGPT can quickly produce the necessary material according to my request, and this is also a fascinating creative process. My team and I then voice the text using a voice synthesized by a neural network and use AI in the design. I would not be surprised if in the future there will be even more opportunities for creators and that with the help of neural networks it will be possible, for example, to create films.
