Diesel has launched clothing for digital avatars.

Date: September 8, 2024 Time: 05:50:28

Diesel presents digital clothing for avatars in Meta stores (Meta Platforms Inc. and social networks Facebook and Instagram are prohibited in Russia. – BURO Note). The articles were developed in collaboration with DressX, a technological platform specialized in online fashion. WWD reports this.

The Italian brand, led by creative director Glenn Martens, joins the store’s current line-up of core brands including Valentino, Balenciaga, Prada and Thom Browne. The collection features ten Diesel styles, similar to the brand’s physical offerings. Customers can dress up avatars and display them on social media and Quest VR.

Previously, Diesel had already issued 300 NFTs on the Polkadot and Polygon blockchains, which provided access to the brand’s show at Milan Fashion Week. Stefano Rosso, member of the board of directors of the Diesel OTB Group, said: “Digital fashion has the potential to become a new source of income once the technology and its adoption reach massive levels.”

Recall that Glenn Martens previously released a collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier. The designer focused on prints and created trompe l’oeil items that imitate vests, denim jackets, denim skirts and slip dresses with printed lingerie.
