Dries Van Noten Mystic Moss, a fragrance that combines the incongruous, is released today. Notes of moss, water, salt and seaweed intertwine with accents of mandarin and cardamom. Dries Van Noten worked together with perfumer Nicholas Bonneville to develop the new product.
“It all started in 2022, when Nicholas gave me a patchouli plant for my garden. It is a very special ingredient in perfumery, with a strong personality. I wanted to find a different vision, a fresher interpretation of it. That’s how the idea of “impossible combinations” was born. In my opinion, beauty is intertwined with contrast, so every fragrance is created from unexpected ingredients,” Dries told Hypebae.
The fragrance costs $255 (about 22,000 rubles). It can be purchased at Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue stores, as well as on the Dries Van Noten website.
It should be recalled that in June this year Dries Van Noten stepped down as creative director of his brand. We discuss this in more detail here.
