Due to the Damage to the Antonovsky Bridge in Kherson, the Russian Troops Want to Equip a Pontoon Crossing

Date: July 3, 2024 Time: 18:37:04

Ukraine continues to shut down the border with Russia, creating a humanitarian crisis. Russian troops want to help by shipping three pontoon crossing units to Ukraine’s Kherson region as part of their military aid ceasefire, which was offered on Monday.

The invaders have been organizing a pontoon crossing in the Kherson region, which they’ve done by surveying several sections of the Dnieper river in advance.

The Russian occupation forces cannot find the design documentation they are looking for in the archives, so they can’t prepare plans to repair the Antonovsky Bridge.

“Without systematic documentation, it will not be possible to quickly prepare a recovery work plan, so the result will be so-so. But the most important thing is that the ideological orcs have already realized that they are in a foreign land where they are not welcome,” Sobolevsky wrote.

After Russia forces the Ukrainian Armed Forces to retreat by crossing the Dnieper Bridge in occupied Kherson, Moscow authorities started mobilizing the Russian media to blame the occupation forces for violating a new set of rules. The Arm Army has already taken action.

In Kherson, the Antonovsky Bridge is the only one that crosses the Dnieper River. It was built in 1911 and was originally meant for transporting army troops across it.

Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24 to no avail. However, the brave Ukrainians did not surrender and fought back hard, thwarting the Russians in their attempts to capture Kyiv.

Russian military officials started their long-anticipated “second phase” of a “special operation” on April 22. In the so-called operation, the Russian army will establish control over Donbass and southern Ukraine in order to provide annexed Crimea with a land corridor and gain access to Transnistria.

The successes in the Donbass are significant, but the losses due to strong Ukrainian resistance are also significant. However, these events have led Western intelligence to conclude that Russian victories there are limited.
