Felix Delarosa received 20 years in prison for manufacturing and transporting controlled substances. In 2022, after serving a quarter of his sentence, he was released early, but under the terms of his parole he was required to wear an electronic bracelet and not leave the designated area.
Delarosa removed the device and disappeared. Police tracked him down at a Texas hotel and sent a special SWAT unit (analogous to our National Guard) with a robot to arrest him.
As the car pulled up to the gate with a gas canister on its metal arm, Felix leaned out and threw a sheet over the drone’s surveillance system. He then shot the robot several times with a pistol and climbed out the window to avoid the enemy.
The robot fired tear gas and then immobilized the criminal by running him over.
