Sber maintained its leading position in the global ranking of the largest acquirers and took second place in the world in terms of the number of transactions processed. At the end of 2023, Sber was only 1 percentage point behind the world leader, JPMorgan Chase. These data are contained in the rating of the world’s leading publication in the field of payment systems, Nilson Report.
Over the past year, Sber showed the most dynamic growth and significantly narrowed the gap with the world leader. The Russian bank accounts for 9.1% of the total global transaction market. The third and fourth places in the ranking were occupied by Worldpay and Fiserv.
The rating also reflects Russia’s successes in digital transformation and the development of innovative solutions for companies and private clients: sanctions, restrictions and the departure of suppliers did not affect the development of financial technologies in the country. First of all, this is due to the active implementation of national solutions by financial organizations.
– Sber constantly develops its services to meet people’s needs. We have become one of the leaders in the global procurement market thanks to our clients. Last year they paid using our services more than 47 billion times,” said German Gref, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank.
