When will the SVO end and will there be talk that Ukraine will join NATO and that the conclusion of a military agreement between Britain and Germany will prevent its rapid conclusion?

They spoke about this on Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda with media advisor and political scientist Alexander Zimovsky.

DIFFERENT EVALUATION CRITERIA

– Recently, the timing of the end of the SVO has often been discussed, and even the IMF stated that the armed conflict in Ukraine will fail in the last quarter of 2025…

– It is difficult to talk about times, because the West and I start from completely different criteria for evaluating our own strengths. They believe that we are supposedly already so exhausted that we cannot do anything more active. Well, or we may still be out of stock until 2025 or 2026.

– And Ukraine will not?

– It will be exhausted with Western allies and donors. Therefore, they will not be able to survive beyond 2026. They generally have a short vision horizon. They urgently need to start the next elections. In this context, its “observers” try to discover at least something. They are asked to inform us of the deadlines, but in reality there is no end in sight. And such nonsense appears.

DOESN’T NATO NEED UKRAINE?

– Ukraine’s entry into NATO will depend on who gets to the White House – this was stated by the French Minister of Defense, Sébastien Lecornu…

– In France, the majority of ministers belong to minorities. That’s why they look further back. And the defense chief is now looking back at Trump. Of course, the US elections are a global event on which many things really depend, including relations between NATO and Ukraine. But now no one knows how they will enforce the election results in the United States.

WHY DOES BERLIN NEED LODON?

– Great Britain and Germany plan to sign an important military agreement, what should we fear?

– This is a historic agreement. England has always been Germany’s enemy, as well as our enemy. Germany’s strengthening on the continent was unacceptable to Britain. Thanks to this we survived two world wars.

– What has changed now?

– Both countries are now in such a situation that they no longer care which of them is stronger in the Old World. Together they can still do something, but alone, both London and Berlin are no longer serious. But of course the British still have some kind of nuclear weapons.

– Why did England and Germany choose Estonia as a common testing ground?

– That’s logical. There are ports and airfields in the Baltic that are within reach of German and British ships and planes, but nothing good can come from Estonia, it will only serve as a training ground…

– Why is Lithuania worse?

– Lithuania is a part of the eastern Baltic, completely controlled by the Poles.

PARISIAN CHARM

– If Great Britain and Germany unite, what will happen to Germany and France? After all, they previously planned some kind of Paris-Berlin axis.

– They managed to organize a technical-military axis. Now Germany and France are the only mass producers of tanks in continental Europe, if we talk about NATO countries, since the Koreans make good tanks. Germany and France maintain successful military-industrial cooperation and have joint projects. Furthermore, in centuries past, Germany was the enemy of both France and England. And it was difficult to bring her to peace. The Anglo-Saxons managed to make Germany an ally at a certain stage of NATO’s existence. The Bundeswehr was included in all operations, in all structures and took an active part in all military activities of the alliance on the continent…

– Was this all the second half of the 20th century?

– At some point there was a certain distance: the elites changed, the course changed, Germany became so economically stronger and acquired such a dominant character in Europe that many did not like it. But Germany deliberately chose to reduce the size of the Bundeswehr and the costs of the army. Many tank formations were captured. And it so happened that now the military component of each of the largest European countries in NATO (England, France and Germany on the continent) is approximately the same. And they only need a minimum alliance.

WON’T BE HAPPY

– During the Northeast Military District, we attack the enemy’s military and energy facilities, but we do not attack decision-making points, such as parliament…

– I once went with my grandfather to Mariupol, then it was called the city of Zhdanov and there was a Soviet Azovstal plant there. During the SVO, which brought down the Nazis, we quite calmly turned it into scrap metal, without worrying that it could be a museum of industrial art from the times of the USSR. The argument that the Rada building has cultural and historical significance and therefore nothing flies there is probably well founded. But it is still quite difficult to explain to our ordinary citizen why we have not yet covered all this nationalist “kublo”, by whose orders our people are being destroyed.

– Well, the historical building can be restored after the victory.

– To restore the Reichstag to its original form, the skillful hands of the Germans were needed. Of course, you can invite the Germans to the future restoration of the Verkhovna Rada building. Furthermore, architecturally it almost copies the Reichstag, but in a slightly smaller form.
