On the evening of September 8, KVN presenter Alexander Maslyakov died at the age of 82. In recent years, he had been suffering from an inoperable tumor in his lungs. He knew about the terrible diagnosis; eight months ago, doctors told him that treatment would not help. His students were among the first to express their condolences to the once permanent KVN host.

Sergei Svetlakov posted a photo from his participation in the games, in which he is kneeling in front of Alexander Vasilyevich.

“A great loss… This strong, witty and intelligent man was the planet around which we all revolve. Thank you and eternal memory,” Svetlakov wrote.

Comedian and TV presenter Pavel Volya thanked Maslyakov for giving him the opportunity to make a career and achieve his goals.

“Alexander Vasilyevich, thank you for your youth. Thank you for the start in life. Sincere condolences to family and friends,” the comedian wrote.

Mikhail Galustyan also thanked the host of the legendary show. He noted that Maslyakov made a great contribution not only to him personally, but also to humor in general.

“I have always loved you and I will always love you. How many young talents have you given the opportunity to step into the big world? Many people from your school now occupy leading positions in Russian television, cinema and show business. We will cherish fond memories of you. A great man, a legend, has passed away. Very sad news. My condolences to family and friends,” Galustyan wrote.

His colleague, comedian Garik Kharlamov, posted a black-and-white photo of Alexander Vasilyevich on his social networks, signed with the words: “Thank you for everything!”

Popular blogger Ida Galich also expressed her condolences by posting archive images of Maslyakov.

“The photo was taken many years ago. Your girlfriend with long hair and high hopes. Some things came true, others didn’t. I am so grateful for all the lessons I learned in this school of life. Goodbye, Era,” Ida wrote.
