German infantry fighting vehicle stuck in Russian swamp: now used against Ukrainian Armed Forces

Date: September 20, 2024 Time: 17:46:46

Russian servicemen in the Avdeevsky direction pulled out the German infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) “Marder” from the swamp and delivered it with the help of a repair and evacuation group to the repair unit of the “Center” group of troops.

Footage provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense shows a German infantry fighting vehicle attempting to avoid anti-tank mines and falling into a swamp.

“I got stuck in a swamp and suffered a water hammer. At this moment, our drones hit the skating rink and the tower. Our evacuation team has arrived. They removed the car and took it to be restored. The engine, fuel system and wiring were repaired. Now “Marder” is on the move,” says an armored vehicle repairman with the call sign “Mechanic” in the footage.

And a mechanic with the call sign “Walk” talks about the vulnerability of foreign armoured vehicles: “They have a lot of electronic components that often fail when hit by shrapnel. We had more than ten units of Leopards and Abrams. The equipment is very heavy and has poor manoeuvrability. Our armoured vehicles are much better and simpler – there is practically nothing to break.”

After the necessary maintenance, a decision will be made on the further transportation of the captured equipment. It is possible that the German “Marder” that ended up in the Russian swamp will be used against sabotage units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
