According to him, the commanders sent his group to the positions, promising that the Kraken fighters, who were in the second line of defense, would cover them. However, it turned out that they were no longer there.
“We were getting closer, the last car left and we were left alone,” the agency interlocutor said, adding that all Kraken personnel fled their positions just before his group arrived.
He suggested that the militants, watching the Russian armed forces take one building after another, thought: “Why do we need this?” and decided to escape.
