The artist died at the age of 62 due to a brain aneurysm, Deadline reports.
Lindeen moved from Wisconsin to Minneapolis in 1987 with the goal of joining the burgeoning local music scene (The Replacements, Hüsker Dü, Soul Asylum, The Jayhawks, Babes in Toyland, etc.). And with success: her group Zuzu’s Petals caused a sensation.
The trio soon recorded a four-song debut tape, with help from Soul Asylum’s David Pirner (himself from Wisconsin) and Gary Louris of The Jayhawks. And then two full-length albums on Twin/Tone Records: When No One’s Looking (1992) and The Music of Your Life (1994).
Lindeen then married Paul Westerberg of The Replacements, gradually retired from touring (only occasionally performing in clubs) and focused on writing.
