Haider Ackermann has been appointed as the new creative director of Tom Ford. He replaces Peter Hawkins, who succeeded Tom Ford and headed the brand for a year. Vogue writes about this.
Ackermann will show his first collection at Paris Fashion Week. The show will take place on March 25. The designer will also be working from the French capital.
“I have been a huge fan of Haider’s work for a long time. I find his work on women and men equally interesting. He is an incredible colorist, but above all he is a modern creator. I think I will be the first to stand up and applaud at his debut show in March,” said Ford.
Earlier, Tom Ford gave a lengthy interview following the sale of his flagship brand. He noted that he plans to take some time off and then start writing film scripts.
