The actors’ strike in the United States will not interfere with the filming of the second series of “House of the Dragon” in the United Kingdom. The fact is that many actors in the series are members of the British Equity union. Its rules do not allow strikes in solidarity with comrades. Variety reports it.
If the actor breaks the rules, they will have no protection against possible termination or a lawsuit by the employer. Equity has advised actors in various capacities, including SAG-AFTRA members, to continue working.
On June 13, the Screen Actors Guild of America officially announced a strike against film and television companies. Artists are demanding higher salaries from companies and protection against unauthorized use of their images using artificial intelligence.
