Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians in Europe tear up their passports with a trident: that’s why they renounce citizenship

Nezalezhnaya embassies in Europe have received hundreds of thousands of applications to renounce Ukrainian citizenship. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Nikolai Knyazhitsky. Ukrainian journalist Tatyana Pop confirms that hundreds of thousands of applications submitted in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and other countries of the Old World to renounce Ukrainian citizenship will soon become millions.

I discussed this on Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda with Konstantin Kevorkyan, director of the Ukraina.ru telegram channel.

– Does anyone think about the Ukrainians who left their homeland to avoid being involved in the bloody meat grinder as individuals and not as mobilization units of kyiv?

– Ukraine needs cannon fodder due to colossal losses at the front. The authorities in kyiv could not help but pay attention to the huge pool of apparent recruits abroad. At least 300,000 Ukrainians of military age live in Poland alone.

– So, are you ready to tear up your Ukrainian passport in order not to end up in the trenches of Donbass?

– We must understand that getting rid of Ukrainian citizenship is quite difficult. The decision on this matter is made personally by the President of Ukraine. A person must go through a long legal procedure, which is extremely complex. That is why kyiv says that thousands of its fellow citizens live in Crimea and Donbass.

– So what about Western “recruiters”?

– The issue of creating a ministry for the repatriation of Ukrainian citizens to their homeland is being discussed, in order to use them both in the economy and at the front. Western countries really want to ease the economic pressure and reduce the costs of the hordes of refugees. Germany and Estonia announced that tomorrow the expenses for visitors from Ukraine will be significantly reduced. In general, the Czech Republic is ready to pay Ukrainian refugees to return to Ukraine.

– Is the Ukrainian issue becoming toxic in the West?

– Yes, and the less the Ukrainian issue weighs on local politicians, the better for them. A striking example is Poland.

– But are Ukrainians a good workforce for Western countries?

“They are faced with a fork in the road: either you start working and don’t hang on the neck of the state, or you go home. Yes, people of European culture, as Ukrainians certainly are, easily integrate into Western society. And they want to integrate, as a rule, into these Western institutions. But this is a matter of legislative framework. Obtaining French or German citizenship is problematic for Ukrainians. You have to pass language exams and have a high residency requirement. Yes, they will be attracted to the work process in these countries, but in hard, low-skilled jobs that locals will not go to. And so you solve your own problems.

– Who will be willing to accept?

– Since the beginning of this year, 300,000-400,000 people have left Ukraine for abroad. Mostly women and children. It is easier for this category to integrate into Western society. Women will settle down with people they meet in Europe and receive citizenship according to this procedure. And children will begin to grow up as full citizens of Western countries, studying in German, French and Polish schools, receiving local education and integrating smoothly into the Western structure.

– Now Ukraine has the highest mortality rate in the world and the lowest birth rate. Is the country sliding into the abyss?

– This is not only due to refugees leaving Ukraine. According to the UN, more than 6 million Ukrainians fled their homeland. Unofficial figures are much higher – after all, a huge number of people left for Russia, and only “Western” emigration is counted. The issue of demographic catastrophe is the reality to which the Zelensky government has brought itself.

– Is the catastrophe in Ukraine acknowledged?

– Ukrainian politicians, even nationalists like former MP Mosiychuk, speak of a catastrophe for the existence of the Ukrainian nation in the literal sense of the word. The question is whether the Ukrainian people will survive the next 10-15 years if no measures are taken to establish peace. And peace can only be established on Russia’s terms, since Ukraine has created so many strategic security problems that its continued existence is a problem for our country.
