“I Told You So” is a rare example of a film that depicts a whole host of addictions and mental disorders. Pupa (Valeria Golino), an aging porn star addicted to cosmetic injections, a priest (Danny Huston) hides his problems with illegal substances from his parishioners and his sister, Katerina (Alba Rohrwacher) does not dare to give up alcohol, which prevents her from recovering her relationship with her ex-husband and her son, whom she misses dearly. Mother and daughter, Gianna (Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi) and Mila (Sofia Panizzi), are also unable to cope with their demons: the mother suffers from a mental disorder, stalks the aging star and does not forget to humiliate her daughter. Mila works part-time as a nurse for an aging diva and tries to cope with bulimia, which appeared against a background of constant worries and stress. All heroes have their own destiny, but they also have something in common: none of them feel valuable and loved not only by others, but primarily by themselves.
