The accident occurred on the evening of Monday, July 15, in the village of Novopokrovka, Bystroistok district.
“Near a bus stop, the driver of a Kia Spectra ran over a 16-year-old local resident. The teenager died on the spot from her injuries,” the Altai Territory prosecutor’s office said.
A criminal case is being investigated into the accident. The prosecution also wants to find out why the schoolgirl found herself in the dark without any adult company and the conditions under which her family lives.
