According to the regional directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the 62-year-old businessman was placed in a pre-trial detention center. The man is suspected of providing services that do not meet safety requirements. Earlier, the department opened a criminal case for poisoning in a cafe.
It is known that in the last days of June and the beginning of July, 32 people turned to the doctor with signs of acute intestinal infection. Only one of them did not require hospitalization. Among the victims were eight children. Salmonella DNA was found in tests carried out on ten citizens under observation, Governor Igor Kobzev said.
The head of the region said that after the emergency in Bratsk, a group of specialists from the regional Ministry of Health provided consultations and other assistance to local doctors.
The cafe will remain temporarily closed after this. Rospotrebnadzor is continuing its epidemiological investigation.
