According to investigators, in 2013, two university students from Kharkov got into a fight in one of the dormitories in the village of Partenit on the southern coast of Crimea. The conflict escalated into a brawl in the shower. One of the participants in the conflict hit a fellow student and hit him several times in the head.

The victim was rushed to hospital in Alushta and then transferred to Kharkov, but he could not be saved. Six months later, the young man died from complications resulting from his injuries.

Meanwhile, the second participant in the brawl fled the scene. The investigation into the case was resumed and evidence of the suspect’s guilt was collected. The court sentenced a 29-year-old Kharkov resident in absentia to eight years in a maximum security colony. He is on the international wanted list.
