The support measure is aimed at students who are receiving vocational secondary education for the first time.
“The main condition is good academic performance. The decision on compensation payment will be made after the session based on the grades obtained,” said Irina Untilova, chairwoman of the regional Legislative Assembly.
Starting next year, families will receive compensation of 50 to 100 percent of the cost of education from the regional budget. A full refund will be given to students whose grade point average is 4.5 to 5, 75 percent – from 4.4 to 4, 50 percent – if the grade is below 4.
