In St. Petersburg, a man who stole an 18th-century vase from an excavation has been detained KXan 36 Daily News

“The incident took place on the territory of the Okhtinsky Mys cultural heritage. The detainee is a previously convicted 36-year-old citizen with no fixed place of residence. He was caught red-handed,” the press service said.

The man had the stolen goods confiscated and he himself was taken to the police.

The department also pointed out that the day before the detainee took metal objects from the excavation site, presumably old cutlery.
