During the trial, the author of the accident explained that there was contact between the car and the barrier, but he did not know that it was an accident. The court took this into account and imposed the minimum possible penalty: Article 12.27 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation provides for deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one to one and a half years or administrative arrest for a period of up to fifteen days.
