“The highest turnout on the first day of voting in the by-elections of State Duma deputies was recorded in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic – 27.37%,” Pamfilova said at a briefing at the information center of the commission.
Recall that by-elections to the State Duma are planned in four single-mandate constituencies, the powers of deputies of which were canceled early. The mandate of a State Duma deputy from a Crimean district became vacant after Andrei Chernyak, a United Russia deputy, renounced his powers ahead of schedule, on September 3, 2022. His party colleagues Nikolai Bortsov ( Lipetsk region) and Dzhasharbek Uzdenov (Karachay-Cherkessia) died on April 23, 2023. Another member of United Russia, Viktor Zubarev (Krasnoyarsk Territory), died on May 31, 2023.
According to the data published on the screens of the CEC information center, in the Simferopol single-mandate constituency the turnout on the first day of voting was 8.17%, in Lipetsk – 12.53%, in Divnogorsk (territory from Krasnoyarsk) – 14.75%.
