The children’s mischief was captured on surveillance cameras: local residents recognised one of the minors on the video and contacted the authorities. Three cars were damaged, windows were smashed and interior items were damaged. One of the vehicles was set on fire, the regional Interior Ministry confirmed to RIA Novosti.
“All children have been identified, precautionary discussions have been held with them and their parents and an inspection is underway,” the department said.
The children are between 8 and 14 years old and have not reached the age of criminal responsibility, the agency’s interlocutor explained. Parents can be punished for failing to fulfil their parental responsibilities.
