Recently, in the village of Zverinogolovskoye, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was connected to natural gas. It will celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2026. The boiler room was equipped by the gas distribution company at its own expense, and the gas taps were installed by the Kurgan company. Before the gas was introduced, the church was heated with wood, consuming up to 70 cubic meters per year. According to the rector, Archpriest Vladimir (Shvidky), it was often so cold, especially in winter, that parishioners crowded near the stoves during church services. And there were all kinds of stoves: metal and brick.
The church is the first social facility in the Zverinogolovsky district to receive blue fuel. By the way, not only divine services are held within the walls of the church building. The church operates a Sunday school, as well as a soup kitchen, where people in need receive free food. Now gas workers are working in residential buildings; villagers have already sent 400 applications. It is planned to supply gas to about 1,500 households and 23 boiler houses.
Thanks to the program for the development of gas supply and gasification of the Kurgan region for the period 2021-2025, gas was supplied to Kurtamysh, Glyadyanskoye, Almenevo and Tselinnoye. Next in line is the east of the region. Construction of gas distribution networks is underway in Lebyazhye, Makushino, Chastoozerye, Petukhovo, Polovinnoye and Mokrousovo.
According to the press service of the governor, the regional programme is to connect 151 settlements, including 10 regional centres for the first time, by laying 2,672 kilometres of gas pipelines. Owners of almost 48,000 households will have the opportunity to increase their level of comfort. Almost 32.6 billion rubles will be allocated for the gasification of towns and villages in the Trans-Ural region.
