Koca clarified that the majority of the victims occurred in Ankara (1,274 people), in Istanbul (840) and in Izmir (416).
According to the demands of the Turkish authorities, on Eid al-Fitr, the slaughter of sacrificed animals must take place in specially designated places, complying with all health regulations. However, these requirements are often violated and thousands of Turks suffer injuries and cuts every year.
