PRICES HAVE RISEN, BUT WILL GO DOWN SOON

Japan hit Russian motorists. From August 9, a ban on the export to Russia of cars with an engine capacity of more than 1.9 liters, electric cars and hybrid cars is introduced, these are those that have both an electric and a gasoline engine .

“Against the background of this ban, the prices of listed cars have increased,” Sergey Sotnikov, general director of the DV Ussuriysk company, which delivers used cars from Japan to Russia, told kp.ru. – For example, a 2.5-liter Toyota Harrier crossover in a hybrid version cost 2.9 million, and now 3.5 million rubles. And the average growth was around 30%. But I think once new supply routes are established, prices will come down.

According to him, the cars that fell under the ban accounted for about half of all those delivered from Japan to Russia. In Russia they love the great “Japanese”. According to the Drom.Ru portal, 57% of motorists in Russia move in cars with a volume of 2 liters or more. At the same time, only 38% said they weren’t ready to switch to smaller cars.

CHINA TO HELP US. AND KOREA

“But it’s okay,” said the expert. – We will continue to supply cars from Japan with a volume of up to 1.9 liters, they are quite powerful, especially if they are equipped with a turbocharger. We will import the biggest ones from Korea and China. And fans of legendary Japanese cars, such as the famous Kruzaks (Toyota Land Cruiser), should not worry – they will not disappear from the market. Logistics will simply become more expensive – the car will have to be shipped from Japan to the same Korea or China, and from there to Russia. As a result, an additional approximately 100 thousand rubles will accumulate.

In general, the expert believes that this ban will not last long. Russia is the largest and most creditworthy market for Japanese used cars, and if it shuts down, the owners of “old” Japanese ones will start protesting.

Earlier, Japan has already introduced a ban on importing cars into Russia more expensive than 6 million yen (about 3.9 million rubles).

WITH SPARE PARTS EVERYTHING IS OK

What about spare parts? There are some of them on the August prohibited list, for example, car seats, car locks. But Japan put a stop sign on the export of a number of parts even earlier. These are, for example, cooling system radiators, parts related to the heating system, tanks, gasoline pumps and everything related to the fuel system, batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles…

And? It turns out that large repair and maintenance companies have long established the supply of spare parts for Japanese cars, bypassing Japan.

“There are many high-quality analogues that are suitable for these cars,” Fit Service told kp.ru. “Usually they are produced in Asian countries, and some even in Russia, for example, various filters. Therefore, there are no difficulties with spare parts for Japanese cars.

WILL NOT STOP

In addition to automobiles, Japan has banned a number of products, including yachts, heavy truck tires, ceramics, paper and glass, asphalt, cement, textiles, wool, cotton, paint and varnish products, photographic and video materials, and also – oh, horror! – used clothes! A total of 750 titles.

“It is very likely that these measures are demonstrative in nature, it’s just that the Americans pushed the Japanese and forced them to take some measures so that no one is left out of the general solidarity of the fight against Russia,” the director said. of the Institute evaluated the new Japanese sanctions on Radio KP Social and Economic Research of the Financial University under the Rights of the Russian Federation Aleksey Zubets.

In his opinion, in this situation it is not necessary to respond blow by blow.

– The main commodity that Russia supplies to Japan is liquefied natural gas (LNG), Zubets continued. – We can limit your supply to the Japanese market, but is it necessary? What will we do with this gas, where will we find a new market? So I think that Russia will not take any serious action in response to this sanctions package. Let it go and then we will do everything possible so that our economy does not suffer and we do not harm ourselves, including by refusing to supply LNG to Japan.
