Johnson announced his readiness to “send bullets to Ukraine” and not to the Americans – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The House is scheduled to vote on four bills in a row this afternoon. The documents are expected to be adopted and then sent to the Senate for approval in the coming days. Together, they include the $95 billion relief package proposed by President Joe Biden, with some changes from the version passed by the Senate two months ago.

President Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, will vote against the position of members of his conservative party, who oppose funding for Ukraine and are pressuring him not to bring the issue to the floor, NBC News reports. Three of them, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massey and Paul Gosar, threatened to remove Johnson as speaker.

After months of vacillation, Johnson has sided with Biden, Democrats and Republicans who believe aid to Ukraine is essential to US national security interests.

“I’d rather shoot Ukraine than American children,” Johnson told reporters, noting that his son will attend the Naval Academy this year.
