Gucci has unveiled an updated model of the 1955 Horsebit bag. Actress Julia Garner, star of The Little Mermaid Halle Bailey remake and member of the K-pop group New Jeans Hani starred in the ad campaign. WWD reports.
The photo was taken by the iconic fashion photographer duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. The new bags are adorned with a double flap ring, linked to the world of horsemanship and traditional symbols of the fashion house. This element was first introduced 70 years ago in Gucci loafers. The collection includes totes, bucket bags and crossbody bags.
The updated version debuted in 2020. Designed by Alessandro Michele, the new Horsebit 1955 features a stiffer frame and is made from signature monogrammed fabric. The bag also features the iconic Horsebit detail.
