On Sunday Rostov lost to Spartak 1:5. In the 60th minute, the coach of the Rostov team replaced goalkeeper Sergei Pesyakov, whose mistake led to the second lost goal.
After the match, Rostov coach Valery Karpin explained the reasons for the decision to replace the goalkeeper.
“If you call the game with one word it is “it happens.” For me this is more of an accident than a disaster. I would say that this is all the result of individual error. It’s not that the goalkeeper didn’t clear. before the second goal, before the third missed goal, but because he did not say that the injury did not allow him to play as he should,” Karpin noted.
The coach of the Rostov team added that after the second goal it was clear that something was wrong with Pesyakov. And the coaching staff has already begun preparing a replacement. Karpin noted that the goalkeeper was injured in the first half after being hit by one of the players.
